| We’d like to share a brief update on the Foundation’s recent activities:
December was a busy month with the Blue Santa Project, working with Assistant Chief Vicki King, police officers, former NFL players and sponsors to provide a fun evening for Clayton Homes families. Halliburton, along with Don Sanders and Michael Linn with Linn Energy, provided hot dogs, cookies, drinks and candy books for all the residents that attended the party.
The following week, sponsors and officers distributed toys and gifts to the Clayton Homes residents. Toys were donated by Halliburton, Laura Ward at Children’s Charity and Mark and Jenny Micheletti. Toys were also distributed to Ben Taub Hospital and LBJ Hospital, as well as to families that were victims of Christmas burglaries.
The Foundation is currently working on its first newsletter, which will be distributed in March. The newsletter will highlight fundraising events and projects funded by the Foundation, along with current funding needs.
We are also working on the Police Week Awards Ceremony that will take place on Monday, May 10, 2010. Awards will be given officers that were nominated and selected for their outstanding performance in 2009.
