This two-hour recreational ride is for cyclists of all ages and abilities, on a traffic-free course stretching 5 to 35 miles on Memorial Drive. Slower riders will keep to the right, and faster riders will keep to the left. No motorized traffic will be allowed on the course.    The journey starts at the Downtown Aquarium. You will head west on Memorial Drive to Shepherd returning east on Memorial Drive back to the Downtown Aquarium. &lt;p&gt;Since 1995, Mr. Nau has served as Chairman of the Texas Historical Commission (THC).&amp;nbsp;He was appointed to the THC in 1993, and is now serving his third term.&amp;nbsp;In 2001, he was appointed by President George W. Bush to a four-year term as Chairman of the national Advisory Council on Historic Preservation and was reappointed in 2006.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Nau&#8217;s commitment to service is apparent through a broad spectrum of participation in civic, community, and philanthropic organizations in Houston and throughout the country.&amp;nbsp;His involvement includes Board of Trustees of Baylor College of Medicine, Greater Houston Partnership, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Civil War Preservation Trust, Board Member of the Texas State History Museum Foundation, Greater Houston Preservation Alliance Advisory Board, the Board of Directors of the Good Samaritan Foundation, and the Board of Advisors of the Gulf Coast Institute.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Nau is a 1968 graduate of the University of Virginia, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History.&amp;nbsp;He is the past president of the College Foundation of the University and Vice Chairman of the UVA Capital Campaign.&amp;nbsp;He has also served as Chairman of the College of Arts and Sciences Campaign and on the Board of Managers of the Alumni Association.&lt;/p&gt;
