In 1987, Tony Gracely purchased Katy Ford, Inc. in Katy Texas and renamed the dealership Texan Ford. Texan Ford quickly became Houston's No. 1 retail Ford dealer and in 1998 was in the Top 10 retail Ford dealers nationally for Ford Motor Co. In 1995, Tony purchased Leland Steeplechase Lincoln-Mercury, Inc from Ford Motor Co. In November, 1997, Tony was awarded the "Houston Quality Award" by the Better Business Bureau, University of Houston and Houston Business Journal, becoming the first ever automobile dealer bestowed with this honor.
January, 1998 Tony sold Champion Ford, Texan Ford and Texan Lincoln Mercury to Republic Industries / Auto Nation. Tony accepted a position as Senior District Vice President - Texas managing 38 dealerships, 10 mega stores, and supervising 2,000 employees. Tony's "Texas Team" staff was No. 1 in financial services, e-commerce internet sales, and developed the unique, copyrighted "Friends of the Family" referral program.
Tony created Gracely, LLC in 1998 which specializes in commercial and residential real estate financing and development, as well as the acquisition of entrepreneurial business. In November, 2002 Tony purchased Events/The 6527 Corporation and serves as its chairman and President.
Tony Gracely graduated with highest honors in Management from the University of Texas business school. He was honored with the Ft. Bend's 1st Annual Finest Business Award. He was a founding member of the Ft. Bend I.S.D. School District Foundation Board and chairman of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church Founders Fund. Tony and his wife Mary created Gracely "Footprints Foundation" in 1996 to fund organizations and causes that create opportunities, increase awareness and assist people that are in need or have serious illness.
Tony lives in River Oaks with his wife of 33 years, Mary. They have three children and one daughter-in-law. Tony and Mary have supported Brookwood Community, SEARCH, Houston Children's Charities, Family Services of Greater Houston, Texas Children's Hospital, Council on Alcohol and Drugs Houston, Houston Hospice, Linda Lorelle Scholarship Fund, Children Assessment Center and KIP Academy.
